| utricle | A small, sac-like structure in the inner ear that senses static head position and linear acceleration. |
| uvea | The middle layer of the eye, consisting of the iris, ciliary body, and choroid. |
| vitreous humor | The clear, gel-like substance that fills the space between the lens and the retina in the eyeball. |
