Circulation of Blood through the Heart

TermDefinition
Pulmonary Circulation Responsible for carrying deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle of the heart to the lungs and back to the heart.
Systemic Circulation Responsible for carrying oxygenated blood from the heart to all parts of the body and back again
Coronary Circulation Responsible for supplying O2 to the heart muscle (Coronary Arteries)
Pathway Circulation Right atrium receives blood from other parts of the body through the superior & inferior vena cava.
Coronary Arteries Branch off the aorta & deliver blood to the heart muscle
Cardiac Cycle Series of events that makeup a heartbeat
Systole Contraction Phase
Diastole Relaxation Phase
