Selective Service Act law created the military draft, requiring men to register for voluntary or forced service
Harlem Hellfighters all-black US Army regiment that fought in WWI, spent more time in trenches than almost any other unit
Trench Warfare style of fighting that debuted in WWI, soldiers lived and fought out of long, protective ditches in the ground
New Tech of WWI industrialization led to new weapons like poison gas, battleships, grenade launchers, flamethrowers, trench knives, sniper masks/rifles, tanks, and machine guns
