constant of variatiion the constant ratio in a direct varaition . also called constant of proportinality
constant rate of change the rate of change between any two points in a linear realtionship is the same or constant.
corresponding parts parts of congruent or similar figures that are in the same relative position
direct variation a relationship between two variable quantities with a constant ratio.
initial value the starting value in a real-world situation in which an equation can be written. the y intercept of a linear function.
linear equation an equation with a graph that is a straight line.
linear relationship a relationship in which the graph is a straight line
rate of change a rate that describes how one quantity changes in realation to another quantity.
rise the vertical change between any two points in a line
run the horizontal change between any two points on a line.
similar figures figures that have the same shape but not necesarily the same size
slope the rate of change between any two points on a line
slope-intercept form an equation written in the form y=mx+b. m=slope, b= y intercept
slope triangles right triangle that fall on the same line on the coordinate plane.
y-intercept the y coordinate of the point where the line crosses the y axis.
