TPACK

What does TPACK stand for? Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge
High-level overview of TPACK? It's a framework that describes the knowledge teachers need to effectively integrate technology into instruction
What is Content Knowledge (CK)? Knowledge of the subject matter being taught like math, science, history or ELA
What is Pedagogical Knowledge (PK)? Knowledge of teaching methods, instructional strategies, classroom management, assessment and how students learn
What is Technological Knowledge (TK)? Knowledge of digital tools, software, devices, applications and technologies that support learning
What is Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK)? Knowledge of how to teach specific content effectively
What is Technological Content Knowledge (TCK)? Understanding how technology can represent and enhance content areas
What is Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK)? Understanding how teaching and learning changes when technology is used
Why is TPACK important? It helps teachers choose technology to support learning
What's an example of TPACK in an ELA class? Analyzing a novel (CK), Participating in teacher-led discussions (PK) and then creating a presentation (TK)
How does TPACK support student engagement? By giving teachers effective practices, content and technology to develop interactive learning
