TermDefinition
Ecology The study of relationships between living organisms and their physical environment
Ecosystem A community of living and non-living things interacting in a environment
Population A group of the same species living in a particular area
Biodiversity The variety of all things living in an area, inlcuding different plants, animals, and other organisms. High biodiversity means there are many different kinds of living things, which helps ecosystems stay healthy and strong
Thermal energy the total energy of moving particls in a substance (heat)
Conduction The flow of energy through a solid by Collisions of its atoms. energy is transferred through direct contact.
Radiation Heat transfers through electromagnetic waves like sunlight.
Kinetic energy The energy of an object in motion.
Energy transfer Movement of energy from one object or system to another.
Frequency How many waves pass a point in 1 second
Amplitude How tall the wave is
Wavelength The distance in Wave from crest to crest.
