| Wet-In-Dry | Watercolor technique that is highly controlled |
| Gradient | Smooth transition of a hue to another hue |
| Value | Range of color from lightest to darkest |

| Silhouette | Black foreground objects with a colorful background |
| Atmospheric Perspective | Objects appear lighter and bluer as they recede in space |
