Circuit electricity

QuestionAnswer
Define power source Gives electrons energy (battery, generator)
Define load Device that uses the electricity to convert it (bulb converts to light, fan converts it to motion)
Define control devices Controls flow of electrons through a circuit, such as the on/off function (switch, fuse, circuit breaker)
Define conductor To connect all components, allowing the flow of electrons between them (wire)
Symbol and units of voltage? Symbol is V, units is voltage (V)
Symbol and units of current? Symbol is I, units is ampheres (A)
Symbol and unit of resistance? Symbol is R, unit is ohms (weird circle shape)
Define voltage The force/pressure that pushes electrons through a circuit.
Define current The rate of flow of electrons
Define resistance Makes the atoms in a circuit rub to create friction and heat. A wire’s length, thickness, and material affects resistance.
