TermDefinition
Theme The main message or moral of the story
Setting Where and when a story takes place
Conflict (internal ) a mental or emotional battle occuring within a characters self
Conflict (externa) occurs between a character and an external force, such as another character, society, nature, or a situation used for plot development
mood how the story feels and the vibe it gives off/ how it is written
flashback when a character(s) go back in time to something important that happened in the PAST. This is normally important to the story
forshadowing the author gives hints or clues to what will happen later in the story
symbolism the author uses repotition with a person, place, thing or idea making a connection to something. This connection is usually very important and can give the reader deeper understanding.
