How does the Separation of Powers work? The Government is separated into 3 branches
What are checks and balances? Each branch can limit the power of the others.
What is popular sovereignty? The people have the power in the government.
What is the Bill of Rights? The first 10 amendments, they protect personal freedoms
What does the 1st amendment protect? Freedom of speech
What does the 2nd amendment protect? the right to own a gun
What did the 13th amendment do? It ended slavery
What does the 19th amendment protect? the right to vote regardless of gender
Which branch of govoernment is the U.S. Capitol Building? Legistlative
Which branch of govoernment is the White House? Executive
Which branch of govoernment is the Supreme Court Building? Judicial
