Product rule Multiply the Coefficients, keep the base, and add the exponents
Power rule When you raise a power to another power.... Raise the coefficient to the power, keep the base, and multiply the exponents.
Quotient Rule Divide the coefficients, keep the base, and subtract the exponents

What do you do if a number has a negative exponent? Find the reciprocal of the base and change the exponent to a positive number
What do you do to ADD or SUBTRACT numbers in scientific notation? 1. The numbers must have the same exponent. 2. Add or subtract the coefficients, keep the base and exponent. 3. Make sure the final answer is in proper scientific notation.
The square root of a perfect square is: Rational
The square root of a non-perfect square is: Irrational
The square root of a negative is : Imaginary
Rational Any number that can be written as a fraction or decimal
