MCI+CBRNE

QuestionAnswer
What is an MCI? What does MCI stand for? Mass casualty incident. Number of patients exceeds the number of responders immediately on scene. (2 or more patients)
What do the responders first on scene do in an MCI? Assess the scene, call for backup, establish incident command and begin the triage process.
What are the four statuses you're checking a person over when triaging? Breathing, respiratory, perfusion and mental.
What does a red triage tag mean? Transport immediately
What does a yellow triage tag mean? Transport can be delayed
What does a green triage tag mean? Minor, can be transported later, not immediately life threatening injuries.
What does a black triage tag mean? Dead or expected to be dead. (Not breathing.)
What is an CBRNE incident? What does it stand for? Incidents involving hazardous materials. Chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive.
