Who was St Paul? St Paul was an early Christian missionary who spread Christianity throughout the Roman Empire and established Christian communities.
What was the purpose of Paul’s journeys? Paul travelled to spread the message of Jesus, teach people about Christianity, establish churches, and support early Christian communities.
Name a city Paul visited and explain what happened there. Paul visited Philippi where he preached about Jesus and was imprisoned after helping a slave girl.
What happened to Paul in Corinth? Paul stayed in Corinth teaching people about Christianity and building a strong Christian community.
What challenge did Paul face during his journeys? Paul faced persecution, imprisonment, rejection, and dangerous travel conditions.
Why were Paul’s letters important? His letters guided Christian communities, taught Christian beliefs, and encouraged followers to stay faithful.
How are early Christian communities represented in the Church today? The Church today still gathers for prayer, worship, helping others, sharing faith, and celebrating sacraments like the early Christians did.
What values did early Christians practice? They practiced prayer, charity, community, worship, forgiveness, and caring for the poor.
Why was community important in the early Church? Community helped Christians support one another, grow in faith, and continue Jesus’ mission together.
What is the Church? The Church is the community of believers who follow Jesus Christ.
What makes a church different from just a building? The Church is not only a building; it is the people of God gathering in faith, prayer, and worship.
What is the role of the Pope? The Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church who guides Catholics in faith, teachings, peace, and justice.
What are the responsibilities of a bishop? Bishops guide priests, confirm Catholics, ordain priests, and care for the diocese.
What does a priest do? A priest celebrates Mass, administers sacraments, teaches faith, and supports parish communities.
What is the role of a youth minister? A youth minister helps young people grow in faith and become active members of the Church.
What does an altar server do? An altar server assists the priest during Mass by helping prepare the altar and participating in the liturgy.
What is an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion? They help distribute Holy Communion during Mass and to sick or elderly people.
What does a lector do? A lector proclaims Scripture readings during Mass.
Name one early Christian practice still seen today. Prayer and worship are still central practices in the modern Church.
Name another early Christian practice still seen today. Caring for the poor and helping those in need are still important Church practices today.
What does “witness” mean in Christianity? Witness means showing faith through words and actions.
Give an example of a person from the past who responded to God’s call. St Paul responded to God’s call by travelling and spreading Christianity.
Give an example of a modern Church leader responding to mission. Pope Francis responds to mission by promoting peace, justice, care for the poor, and care for the environment.
What does the Church as “Herald” mean? The Church proclaims and spreads the message of Jesus.
What does the Church as “Servant” mean? The Church helps people through charity, justice, and caring for those in need.
What does the Church as “Institution” mean? The Church is an organised structure with leaders, teachings, traditions, and laws.
How does the Catholic Church carry out its mission today? The Church carries out its mission through teaching the Gospel, helping the poor, celebrating sacraments, and guiding believers.
