Directional Terms

Superior (Cranial) Above; Towards the head
Inferior (Caudal) Below; Towards the tail
Anterior/Ventral In front of; Abdominal side (towards the abd side)
Posterior/Dorsal Behind; Spinal side (towards the back/spinal side)
Medial Closer/Towards the midline of the body
Lateral Farther away from the midline (left/right)
Proximal Closer/Towards the point of attachment or origin (joint)
Distal Father way from point of attachment or origin (joint)
Superficial At/towards the surface
Deep Away from/below the surface
