Geography unit

TermDefinition
climate long-term average of weather conditions in a certain area
weather The current state of what the conditions are like outdoors
landform A physical feature on Earth
environment The surroundings of a certain place
region A section inside a larger part. Mostly divided by weather, landforms, or political boundries
savanna An area with open grasslands and scattered trees. Two seasons: one with rainfall, one without.
rainforest A type of dense forest with hot and humid weather conditions
drought A period of time where water is scarce
deforestation The cutting down of trees for agriculture or civilization
habitat The physical characteristics of a place
conservation The protection of animals and geographical feautures.
inference An educated guess built on existing ideas and facts
