What did Vasco do Gama do? Traded for spices in India; acquired a lot of money for Portugal and established an all-water route to Asia
Where was Columbus from? Spain
Where did Columbus sail to? sailed west looking for an all-water route to India
What did Columbus accomplish? He landed on Hispaniola and found a route previously unknown to a continent; begins European conquest of the Americas
Where was Magellan from? Spain
Where did Magellan sail? west around the coast of South America
What were Magellan's accomplishments? He completed the first circumnavigation of the world and claimed Philippines for Spain- gave Spain a base to trade in Asia
