TermDefinition
Climate the long-term, predictable weather patterns in a specific region, typically measured over a span of 30 years or more
Weather the state of the atmosphere at a particular time
Landform a naturally occurring physical feature on the solid surface of the Earth or another planetary body
Environment the surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives and operates
Region a broad geographic, political, or spatial area that shares common features
Savanna a tropical or subtropical grassland ecosystem characterized by a vast, open expanse of grass and widely spaced, scattered trees
Rainforest a dense, lush forest characterized by consistently high rainfall (often over 80 inches annually) and high biodiversity
Drought a prolonged period of abnormally low precipitation (such as rain or snow) in a specific region, leading to a severe water shortage
Deforestation the permanent removal or destruction of forested areas to convert the land to non-forest use, such as agriculture, urbanization, or mining
Habitat the natural environment where an animal, plant, or other organism lives, grows, and reproduces
Conservation the careful preservation, protection, and management of natural resources to prevent their destruction, depletion, or exploitation
Inference a logical conclusion or educated guess formed by combining known facts, observations, and prior knowledge
