Soil is Soil is loose weathered material on earth's surface in which plants can grow. It is a mixture of rock particles, minerals, decayed organic matter, water, and air.
Bedrock is Bedrock is the solid layer of rock beneath the soil.
Humus is Humus is a dark colored substance that forms when plants and animals decay.
Soil Fertility Soil Fertility: How well the soil supports plant growth
Soil Texture Soil Texture: The feel and size of the particles in the soil
Soil pH Soil pH: How much acid is in the soil
O Horizon O Horizon: Made of organic material of plant and animal remains
A Horizon A Horizon: Made of topsoil
B Horizon B Horizon: Made of subsoil
C Horizon C Horizon: Made of bedrock that is beginning to weather and break apart
Bedrock Bedrock: Solid layer of rock
Decomposers Decomposers: breaks up remains of dead plants and animals.
Burrowers Burrowers: Mix up the soil
