P-Anaphylaxis

| Contraindications | There are no contraindications to epinephrine use in a life-threatening situations such as anaphylaxis. |

| What does attendant do prior to administration of epinephrine? | Complete the primary survey, attempt complete history, delegate vitals. |
| How much epinephrine does the attendant administer and what does the attendant do after administration? | 0.5mg epinephrine IM. Transport immediately, consider bringing backup like fire to ventilate patient. |
| What does driver do prior to administration of epinephrine? | Obtain Baseline set of Vitals starting with SpO2, HR, and BP. Prepare the cot. |
| What does attendant do during continue assessment and treatment? | If patient is still displaying S/S of of Anaphylaxis continue Epinephrine administration q5. Up to three more doses at 0.5mg. If anaphylaxis persists after final dosage, call EPOS. |
| What protocol can be run at the same time as anaphylaxis? | Short of breath protocol. |
| What is the paediatric dosing for epinephrine? | 0.01 mg/kg IM to a maximum of 0.5 mg; may repeat up to 3 times q5 |
