| First Person Shooter | A First-Person Shooter (FPS) is a video game genre focused on weapon-based combat viewed directly through the eyes of the player character. |
| FPS (Frames Per Second | how smooth the game looks |
| Game screens | the distinct visual environments or states displayed to the player |
| Genre | classifications based primarily on core gameplay mechanics, player interaction, and objectives |
| Gone Gold | the primary development cycle is complete and the master copy of the game is finalized for manufacturing and digital release |
| Grind | the act of repeating the same gameplay tasks over and over again to gain resources, experience points (XP), or in-game currency |
| Janky | a game that is unpolished, awkward, or functionally buggy. |
| Level | a distinct, bounded space where a player attempts to complete specific objectives to progress |
| Loot | any virtual items, currency, equipment, or cosmetics acquired by a player as a reward for progressing, defeating enemies, or completing quests. |
| MMO | a genre of video game designed to connect thousands of players simultaneously in a single persistent virtual world over the internet |
| Pixels | the smallest individual unit of color that makes up a digital image on a screen. |
| Platform | the hardware system or digital ecosystem used to play or develop video games |
| Quest | a defined objective or task a player must complete to progress and earn rewards |
| Realm | a self-contained digital domain, server, or fictional universe |
