Organelles Small things inside the cell that carry out different functions
Cell wall A wall meant to give protection, support, and shape.
Cell Membrane All cells have a cell membrane, and it controls what goes in and out of the cell. It has a liquid bilayer and contains proteins.
Nucleus: It is the control center of every cell.
Nuclear Membrane Protects and controls what goes in and out of the nucleus
Chromatin Strings that direct cell functions (DNA/RNA)
Nucleolus: Found in the nucleus and is where ribosomes are made.
Cytoplasm: A jelly-like substance/fluid that organelles float around in.
Mitochondria Create ATP energy that the cell needs to carry out functions.
Endoplasmic Reticulum: Carries materials from one part of the cell to another. Rough ER HAS ribosomes Smooth ER-NO ribosomes
Ribosomes Small, grain-like things that are attached to the endoplasmic reticulum and float in the cytoplasm.They produce proteins by joining amino acids together.
Golgi Bodies Receive materials from the ER and package and send them to different parts of the cell.
Chloroplasts Not found in animal cells and have a pigment called chlorophyll, which makes them green.
Vacules Storage for all materials a cell needs . Large water-filled sacs.
Lysosomes Small circular structures that break down food and other substances and are mostly found in animal cells.
