What do we call the period from 1920 to 1929? Why do we call it that? The period from 1920 to 1929 was called the Roaring 20s it was called like that because they wanted to have fun.
What is a stock? A stock is a share part of a bussiness.
Why do people buy stocks? People who own a company stock get a part of the profits every year.
What does prosperity mean? Prosperity means wealth.
What does depression mean when referring to the economy? Depression mean times when the economy is not doing well.
True or False: Just the US was affected by the Great Depression. Why do you think this is? False, it also affected many other countries and led to worldwide depression.
What is a mortgage? Mortgage is the loan to buy the house.
Who was elected president in 1928? How did he feel about the stock market crash? Replican Herbet Hoover was elected president in 1928. He didn’t believe the government should get involved is business.
What is interest? Why do banks charge interest? Banks take te money that people deposit and loan it out to make more money.They do this y charging borrowers interest,or a fee based on the account of money loaned.
What did World War I veterans try to do in 1932? Were they successful? n 1932, a large group, nick named the Bonus Army, traveled to Washington, the soldiers and their families set up a temporary camp. No there were not succesful.
How did the government respond to the WWI veterans camping out in the capital? The government tear gas at the veterans and burned their possessions.
Who became president in 1933? Roosevelt took office in 1933
