TermDefinition
The eyepiece or ocular lens lens at the top that you look through
Body Tube connects the eyepiece to the objective lenses
Arm supports the body tube
Revolving Nosepiece hold the objective lenses and can be rotated to change lenses
Objective lenses magnify object
Coarse Adjustment moves the stage up and down to focus the image
Fine Adjustment moves the stage slightly for fine focusing
Stage the platform that supports the slide
Stage clips clips which hold the slide in place
Diaphragm varies the amount of light which enters the lenses
Illuminator provides light
Base provides support for the microscope
