Grand Canyon The massive natural feature carved by the Colorado River, first mapped by John Wesley Powell.
Phoenix The capital and most populous city of Arizona, located in Maricopa County.
Maricopa County The most populous county in Arizona, home to Phoenix and the "Valley of the Sun."
Sonoran Desert The desert region in southern Arizona famous for the giant Saguaro cactus.
Humphrey's Peak The highest point in Arizona, part of the San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff.
Window Rock The capital of the Navajo Nation, named for a circular gap in a nearby sandstone formation.
Colorado River The river that flows through the Grand Canyon and forms much of Arizona's western border.
Tucson The Pima County seat and UNESCO "City of Gastronomy," home to the University of Arizona.
Petrified Forest A national park in northeast Arizona known for its fossilized logs and the Painted Desert.
Monument Valley A region on the Arizona-Utah border famous for its massive sandstone buttes.
Painted Desert A desert region of colorful rocky mounds stretching from the Grand Canyon to the Petrified Forest.
Havasu Canyon A canyon within the Grand Canyon known for its turquoise waterfalls and blue-green water.
London Bridge The historic bridge bought by Robert McCulloch and reconstructed in Lake Havasu City.
Montezuma Castle A well-preserved ancient cliff dwelling built by the Sinagua people in central Arizona.
Saguaro National Park A national park near Tucson dedicated to protecting the giant namesake cacti.
