| What does attendant do before administering ASA? | Complete the primary survey, delegate O2 to partner. (Targeting 94%) |
| When and how much ASA should you administer? | If the pain appears cardiac in nature and the max dose is 162mg in the last 12 hours. (Top up to 162mg if the patient has already had some.) |
| What does the attendant do before administering nitroglycerin? | Obtain complete history, pain assessment and delegate vitals. |
| How much nitroglycerin do you administer and where should the patient be? | 0.4mg SL and administer when the patient is on the cot. |
| What do you do after the first dose of nitro? | Transport immediately and continue assessment. Administer q3 if still indicated for a max of 3 doses or pain goes to 0. |
| Which drugs that a patient has taken in the last 24 hrs contraindicates nitro? | Viagra/Levitra |
| Which drug that a patient has taken in the last 48 hrs contraindicates nitro? | Cialis |
| Should you give nitro to a patient who is not on the cot? | No, they could fall after being give nitro because of hypotension. |
| Where do you work your cardiac pain assessment into the primary survey? | During your RBS. Ask questions about cardiac chest pain while palpating and as they breathe in. The goal is to ID the pain early. |
