solar system A solar system is a group of planets and other bodies that revolve around a star
planet A planet is a celestial body
star a natural body visible in the sky especially at night that gives off light or shines by reflection
galaxy Galaxies consist of stars, planets, and vast clouds of gas and dust, all bound together by gravity.
light-year Light-year is the distance light travels in one year
universe It includes all of space, and all the matter and energy that space contains.
apparent magnitude Astronomers use the term apparent magnitude to describe how bright an object appears in the sky from Earth.
luminosity Luminosity is an absolute measure of radiated electromagnetic energy per unit time
absolute magnitude Absolute magnitude is defined to be the apparent magnitude an object would have if it were located at a distance of 10 parsecs.
