rise the vertical change between any two points on a line
run the horizontal change between any two points on a line
similar figures figures that have the same shape but not always the same size
slope the rate change between two points on any line
slope-intercept form the equation y=mx+b, where m is slope and y-intercept
slope triangles right triangles that fall on the same line of the plane
solution the answer to a subtraction problem
unit rate a rate that compares two different quantities where the second quantity is exactly one
y-intercept the y-cordinitte where the the line crosses the y axis
