Qin dynasty ruled by the first emperor of China (Qin Shi Huangdi) harsh laws adopted the idea of legalism standardized money, weights, measures, punishments, etc. The emperor unified China and expanded its borders Great Wall was constructed
Han dynasty emperors softened the harsh ruling style of the Qin and brought back Confucian ideas Many technologies were invented - seismograph, magnetic compass, chain pump, wheelbarrow, kite chose government officials who scored ok INVENTION OF PAPER Golden Age
