rays the sides of the angles
right angle an angle that is exactly 90 degrees (like the corner of a square)
acute angle an angle with a measurement less than 90 degrees
obtuse angle an angle with a measurement more than 90 degrees and less than 180 degrees
straight angle an angle with a measurement of exactly 180 degrees, forming a straight line
complementary angles angles whose measurements add up to 90 degrees (the sum forms a right angle)
supplementary angles angles whose measurements add up to 180 degrees (the sum forms a straight angle)
adjacent angles 2 angles who share a side and have a common vertex (next door neighbors)
vertical angles 2 opposite angles formed by the intersection of 2 lines - they form congruent angles (have the same measurement)
congruent angles angles with the same measurement
transversal a line that intersects 2 or more lines
parallel lines lines that never cross/intersect (symbol - //)
corresponding angles angles that match up and are congruent (the top angles can slide down to match the bottom)
