AI a branch of computer science focused on building machines capable of performing tasks that typically require human cognition
Anime a style of Japanese animation that typically features colorful graphics, dynamic characters, and action-filled plots
Console playing video games on a dedicated electronic device—a "console"—designed primarily for gaming, which typically connects to a television or monitor.
First Person Shooter a type of video game where the action is experienced directly through the eyes of the main character
FPS (Frames Per Second) In gaming and video production, FPS measures how many consecutive, still images (frames) appear on a screen in one second.
Game screens the visual interface presented to a player during video game activity.
Genre a classification system that categorizes games based on their core gameplay mechanics, objectives, and player experience, rather than visual style or narrative.
Gone Gold the master version of a game is finished and ready for manufacturing and distribution.
Grind repeating specific tasks over and over to gain a gameplay advantage.
Janky casual slang term used to describe something of very poor quality, unreliable, broken, or shady.
Level a defined, discrete space in which a player completes specific objectives, typically featuring rising difficulty, thematic, or narrative progression.
Loot any in-game items—such as weapons, armor, currency, or cosmetic upgrades—that players acquire as rewards.
MMO Massively Multiplayer Online
Pixels the smallest individual unit of a digital image or display screen.
Platform a raised floor, surface, or structure.
Quest a specific mission or task assigned to a player.
Realm an isolated server or a distinct, playable world/dimension.
RPG a genre of game where players assume the roles of characters in a fictional setting.
Sprites a two-dimensional (2D) bitmap image, graphic, or animation that is integrated into a larger scene or digital environment.
Top-down a camera angle where the action is viewed from directly above, much like a bird's-eye view.
