| Action | Stimulates alpha- and beta-adrenergic receptors within the sympathetic nervous system |
| Action - Effects | Alpha-adrenergic effects include peripheral vasoconstriction at higher doses Beta-adrenergic effects include: – Increased HR – Increased force of cardiac contractility – Increased AV conduction – Bronchodilation Inhibits histamine release |
| Indications | Anaphylaxis |
| Contraindications | No absolute contraindications. |
| Cautions | Cardiovascular System |
| Side Effects | Common reactions to systemically administered epinephrine include anxiety, tremor, dizziness, sweating, palpitations, headache, and nausea |
