What are delegated powers in the U.S. government? Delegated powers are powers that the Constitution gives specifically to the national (federal) government.
Name one delegated power of the federal government. One delegated power is the ability to print and coin money.
What are reserved powers? Reserved powers are powers kept by the states because the Constitution does not give them to the federal government.
Name one reserved power of the states. States have the power to create public schools.
What are concurrent powers? Concurrent powers are powers shared by both the federal government and state governments.
Name one concurrent power shared by both governments. Both governments can collect taxes.
Which level of government can declare war? The federal government can declare war.
Which level of government is responsible for issuing driver’s licenses? State governments issue driver’s licenses.
Why are powers divided between federal and state governments? Powers are divided to make sure no single government becomes too powerful.
Which amendment explains that powers not given to the federal government belong to the states or the people? The 10th Amendment explains this rule.
