| Esophogus | a muscular tube between the mouth and the stomach |
| Bacteria | microscopic organisms that can cause diseases |
| Virus | a nonliving microscopic structure that can cause diseases once inside a living cell |
| Immune system | the system that helps defend against diseases |
| Antibodies | the proteins made by white blood cells that help destroy harmful bacteria and viruses |
| Musculoskeletal system | the system that produces movement and gives structure and protection to the body |
| Ligament | the tissue that connects bone to bone at movable joints |
| Tendon | the tissue that connects skeletal muscle to bone |
