What was the Emanicipation Proclamation? A document issued by Abe Lincoln to set slaves free in Confederate states, but no the border states. It was a military tactic to weaken the South's economy.
What was the Gettysburg Address and its purpose? A speech given by Abe Lincoln to dedicate the battlefield as a cemetery for all the dead soldiers of the Gettysburg battle. Also to remember the principles and equality that our country was founded on.
