Winged Clamp A rubber dam with lateral projections designed to hold the rubber dam material during placement and secure isolation of tooth during dental procedures
Universal A term used to describe an instrument,clamp,or material designed for use on multiple tooth types or in clinical situations rather than for one specific tooth
Bow The curved connecting portion of a rubber dam clamp that joins the jaws and provides stability and retention around the tooth.
Jaws The gripping extensions of a dental clamp that engage the cervical area of a tooth to hold the clamp securely in position.
Septum The partition of rubber dam material located between isolated teeth, helping maintain separation and preventing contamination during treatment.
Invert To tuck or roll the edge of the rubber dam around the cervical portion of a tooth to create a seal that prevents leakage of saliva and moisture.
Stylus A pointed dental instrument used for marking, tracing, or guiding placement during dental procedures or laboratory work.
Malaligned Referring to teeth that are improperly positioned or not correctly aligned within the dental arch.
Exposed Describes a tooth surface, pulp, or dental structure that has become uncovered or visible due to decay, trauma, or dental preparation.
Aspirate To draw fluids, debris, saliva, or air from the oral cavity using suction during dental treatment.
