civil burden of proof Lies on the party who initiated the claim. Therefore in civil disputes the burden of proof lies with the plaintiff
standard of proof civil the degree to which the facts of the case must be proven. In civil standard of proof is on the balance of probabilities. lower than criminal because consequences of breach of civil law are not as severe as breach of criminal law.
