Acquire To get ahold of something
Affluent describing someone who has a great deal of money, wealth, or material possessions
Awry means turned or twisted to one side (askew) or not working/happening as planned
Consent the voluntary, informed, and enthusiastic agreement to engage in an activity, often granting permission to a proposal
Diverse a group or range of things that are distinctly dissimilar, varied, or unlike in character, form, or kind
Haughty an attitude of arrogant superiority, disdain, or proud contempt toward others deemed inferior
infer to deduce or conclude information from evidence
Innocuous means not harmful, injurious, or offensive
Intrigue to secret, underhanded plotting
Placate to soothe, appease, or calm someone’s anger or bitterness, typically by making concessions or gestures to restore goodwill
Pragmatic a practical, realistic approach to problems and decisions
Prohibit meaning to formally forbid an action
Quaint Quaint describes something attractively unusual or old fashioned
Resilient describes people, materials, or systems that recover quickly from misfortune
Serendipity is the occurrence of finding valuable, agreeable, or fortunate things unintentionally or by chance
Solace is comfort, consolation, or relief offered during times of sorrow
Sublime something awe-inspiringly grand, excellent, or morally elevated
Subtle something not immediately obvious
Tranquil a state of being calm, peaceful, and quiet
Volatile substances that easily evaporate at normal temperatures
