Federalism
| Term | Definition |

| Federalism | The form of government where power is shared between the national government and the state governments. |
| Reserved Powers | Powers reserved for the states |
| Concurrent Powers | Powers that the national and state governments share |
| Enumerated/Delegated Powers | Powers that belong to the national government. |
| Coin money, set up a postal system, declare war, regulate foreign commerce, negotiate treaties. | Examples of enumerated powers |
| Guarantee civil rights, collect taxes, provide for public safety, protect public health, establish courts, punish lawbreakers, borrow money, construct and maintain roads. | Examples of concurrent powers |
