complamentary event two events in which either one or the other must happen , but they cannot happen at the same time. the sum of the probability of the event and its complament is 1% or 100%
compound event an event consisting of two or more simple events.
event a diesired outcome or set of outcomes in a probability set.
experimental probability an estimated probability based on the relitive feqruency of posative outcomes occuring during a expierement. it is based on what actually occerd on such an empierament
lkelihood the chance of an event occuring .
outcome anyone of the possible results in action.
probability the chance that some event will happen. it is the ratio of the numbe of faverable outcomes to the number of possible outcomes.
probability experiment when you preform an event to find the likely hood of an event.
relative frequency a ratio that compares the fequency of each catagory to the total.
relative frequencey bar graph a graph used to organize orcurrenses copare the total.
relitive fequence table a table used to organize the occruences compared to a total
sample space the set of all outcomes of a probability expierement.
simple event one outcomes or a collection of ourcomes
simulation an expirement that is designed to model the action in a give expierement.
theoretical probability a ratio to the number of events that can occur to the number of possible outcomes in the sample based. it is based on what should happen in a probability expierement.
theoretical probability of a compound event the ratio to the number of ways that an event can occur to the number of possible out comes thsat can occur it is based on what should happen when conductiion a probability expierement.
