Why have harvest limits? Safety- fatty parts of fish, heart problems Biological- catch and release Socio-cultural- fish are finite, hitting goals, psychological
Creel limit purpose number of fish can be kept in a day smaller fish- less restrictive
Possession limits accounts for daily limit plus at home culling or high grading- releasing of previously possessed fish
Types of size regulations Length Minimum length Length based creel limit 2 of x or 1 of y

Purpose of seasons? Build up excitement Protect vulnerable life stages (fingerlings, spawning) Easier law enforcement
