Freeman A peasant who paid rent and taxes, but could travel

Open field system Three fields would rotate what they grew every year. Barley then wheat and grains then fallow
Bailiff Appointed by the lord to oversee the village, like a policeman
Stocks A punishment where a persons legs and hands were locked in a piece of wood
Pillory A punishment where a persons arms and head were locked in a piece of wood
Wattle and daub A material for making buildings made out of mud clay sticks sand and stone
Motte and Bailey castles First castles and made out of wood
Page First step to becoming a night, started when you were 7 years old
Squire When you where 12-14 you started learning how to fight if you where becoming a night
Night At the age of 21 you became a night and there was a huge party to celebrate.,
Battering ram Used to smash gates
Catapult Hurdled boulders or fireballs over the walls
Ballista Like a giant crossbow, fired large arrows
Siege towers Enclosed towers used to scale the wall
Tunnels Dug under the walls with an aim to collapse the wall
