Domestic policy A government's plan and actions that affect people and events inside a country.

impressment The practice of forcing people to serve in the military.
deport to make a person leave a country.
embargo a government order that restricts trade or the shipment of goods.
backfire to have results that are the opposite of what one wanted.
plummet to fall down very sharply and quickly.
pinch an instance or condition of great need or emergency.
