What is presidential succession? if the president or V.P die/leave office than there's gonna be a new election
What is the state of union address? speech that sets that the president wants Congress to put effect as laws
What is foreign policy? plan for interacting with other countries?
What is diplomacy? interacting with foreign governments that can help build international friendships
What is treaties? written agreements with other countries, made by many officials
What is reprieve? postpones a person's sentence
What is pardon? forgives a person for crime and eliminates their punishment
What is attorney general? head of the department of justice
What is secretary? title of most cabinet members
What is ambassadors? highest ranking U.S. representatives in foreign countries, live in the embassy
What is consulate? U.S. counsel's office, place where U.S. commercial interests are addressed
What is passports? documents needed to travel to other countries
What is visas? documents needed to travel to other countries
What is joint chiefs of staff? top military officers of each branch who advise the president about military actions and possibilities
What is department of homeland security? to protect the nation from a ll threats and attacks
What is independent agencies? groups who work for a common goal/topic in the executive branch
bureaucracy employees of U.S. agencies that make up the bureaucracy-almost 3 million people
