QuestionAnswer
area the measure of the total two-dimensional space, surface, or region enclosed within a set of boundaries
center he exact middle point or centroid of a figure, shape, or object that is equidistant from all points on its boundary or vertices
circle a 2D geometric shape consisting of all points in a plane that are equidistant (an equal distance) from a fixed center point
circumference the total distance around the edge of a circle or any curved geometric shape
composite figure a 2D geometric figure made by combining two or more basic shapes, such as rectangles, triangles, circles, or trapezoids
composite solid a 3D figure formed by combining two or more basic geometric solids
cone a 3D geometric shape that tapers smoothly from a flat, usually circular, base to a single point called the apex or vertex
cylinder a three-dimensional solid shape featuring two parallel, identical, and congruent circular bases connected by a curved surface
diameter the longest straight line passing through the center of a circle or sphere, connecting two points on its circumference
face a flat or curved surface that makes up one of the sides of a 3D solid figure
hemisphere a three-dimensional geometric shape representing exactly half of a sphere, created when a sphere is cut through its center along a diameter
lateral face any flat side of a three-dimensional solid (polyhedron) that is not considered a base
pi a mathematical constant representing the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, roughly equal to
prism a 3D solid figure with two identical, parallel bases (top and bottom) connected by flat, rectangular (or parallelogram) sides
pyramid a 3D solid figure with a polygon base and triangular side faces that meet at a single point, called the apex
radius a line segment connecting the center of a circle or sphere to any point on its boundary (circumference)
regular pyramid a 3D geometric solid with a regular polygon base (all sides/angles equal) and a vertex (apex) centered directly above the base, forming a right pyramid
semicircle a 2D geometric shape representing exactly half of a circle, formed by cutting a circle along its diameter
slant height the diagonal distance measured along the lateral surface of a cone or pyramid, extending from the apex (top) down to the edge of the base
sphere the set of all points in 3D space that are equidistant from a fixed center point
surface area the total measurement of the exposed outer surface of a three-dimensional object, calculated as the sum of the areas of all its faces
volume the measure of the3D space an object occupies

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
