diameter the distance across a circle through a center
face the flat surface of a polyhedron
hemisphere one of two congruent halves of a sphere
lateral face in a polyhedron a face that is not a base
pi the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. the Greek letter pi represents this number
prism a polyhedron with two parrell congruent faces called bases
pyramid a polyhedron with one base that is a polygon and three or more triangular faces that meet at a common vertex
radius the distance from the center of a circle
regular pyramid a pyramid whose base is a regular polygon and in which the segment from the vertex to the center of the base is the altitude
semi circle half of a circle
slant height the height of each lateral face
sphere the set of all points in a space that are given distance from the point called center
surface area the sum of areas of all the surfaces of a three dimensional figure
volume the measure of space occupied by a solid standard units of measure are cubic units such as in*3 or ft*3
