QuestionAnswer
adjacent angles Angles that have the same vertex, share a common side, and do not overlap.
alternate exterior angles Exterior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.
alternate interior angles Interior angles that lie on opposite sides of the transversal.
bases One of the two parallel congruent faces of a prism.
complementary angles Two angles are complementary if the sum of their measures is 90 degrees.
cone A three dimensional figure with one circular base connected by a curved surface to a single point.
congruent Having the same measure:if one image can be obtained from another by a sequence of rotations, reflections,or translations.
corresponding angles Angles that are in the same position on two parallel lines in relation to a transversal.
cross section The intersection of a solid and a plane.
cylinder A three dimensional figure with two parallel congruent circular bases connected by a curved surface.
edge The line segment where two faces of a polyhedron intersect.
exterior angles The four outer angles formed by two lines cut by a transversal.
face A flat surface of a polyhedron.
interior angles The four inside angles formed by two lines cut by a transversal.
line segment Part of a line containing two endpoints and all of the points between them.
parallel lines Lines in the same plane that never intersect or cross. The symbol with two straight lines means parallel.
perpendicular lines Two lines that intersect to form right angles.
plane A two dimensional flat surface that extends in all directions.
polyhedron A simple closed figure formed by three or more straight line segments.
prism A polyhedron with two parallel congruent faces called bases.
pyramid A polyhedron with one base that is a polygon and three or more triangular faces that meet at a common vertex.
remote interior angles The angles of a triangle that are not adjacent to a given exterior angle.
scale The scale that gives the ratio that compares the measurements of a drawing or model to the measurements of the real object.
scale drawings A drawing used to represent objects that are too large or two small to be drawn at actual size.
scale factor The ratio of the lengths of two corresponding sides of two similar polygons.
scale model A model used to represent objects that are too large or too small to be built at actual size.
scalene triangle A triangle having no congruent sides.
straight angle An angle that measures exactly 180 degrees.
supplementary angles Two angles are supplementary if the sum of their measures is 180 degrees.
transversal A line that intersects two or more other lines.
triangle A figure with three sides and three angles.
vertex The point where three or more faces of a polyhedron intersect.
vertical angles Opposite angles formed by the intersection of two lines.Vertical angles are congruent.
verticals Plural of vertex.
zero angle An angle that measures exactly 0 degrees.

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.
