whole numbers positive counting numbers starting with zero
variable an unknown value represented by a letter
term a constant or variable in an expression separated by addition or subtraction
integers whole numbers and their opposites
unit rate the amount per one; the rate when the denominator is one
rate a comparison between two quantities with different units of measure
area the covering of a two dimensional shape measured in square units
proportional a relationship where the ratio of y over x is constant; the graphed line passes through the origin
probability the likelihood of an even happening; expressed as a value ranging from 0 to 1
