diarrhea abnormal food/ frequent stools due to decreased water absorption or increased secretion
hydrolysis chemical digestion where chemicals are broken down by water
emulsification bile's function of breaking fat lipase globules into tiny droplets to increase surface area
peritoneum serous membrane lining abdominal cavity and covering organs
mesentery fold of peritoneum attaches to small intestine to posterior abdominal wall
pyloric sphincter muscle control release of chyme into duodenum
bolus ball of chewed food moves involuntary from mouth to stomach via parasails
jaundice yellow skin discoloration due to bile builds up/ excess bile in blood
LES- cardiac sphincter-lower esophageal separates stomach and esophagus/ causes GERD
GERD acid reflux
