habitat
biotic factor A living or once living part of an habitat.
abiotic factor A nonliving part of an organism's habitat.
species
population All the members of one species living in the same area.
community All the different populations that live together in particular areas.
ecosystem The community of oraganisms that live in a particular area along with nonliving environment.
ecology The study of how organisms interact with each other and their environment.
birth rate The numbers of births per 1,000 individuals for a certain time period.
death rate The number of deaths per 1,000 individuals for a certain time period.
immigration
emigration Movement of individuals out of a population area.
population density The number of indivduals in a area of specific sizes.
limiting factor
carrying capacity
natural selection The process orgasims take to that best adapt to there environment.
adaption A inherited behavior or physical characteristic that helps an orgasm survive and reproduce in its environment.
niche How a orgasm makes its living and interacts.
competition The struggle between organisms to survive as they attempt to use the same limited recourses in the same place at the same time.
predation An interaction in which one organism kills another for food or nuterance.
predator The organism that does the killing in a predation interaction.
prey An organism that killed and eaten by another oragism in a predation interaction.
symbiosis A relationship when species live closely together.
mutualism
commensalism A type of symbolizes between two species in which one specie benefits an the other specie is neither helped nor harmed.
parasitism A type of symbolsis in which one organism lives with on or in a host and harms it
parasite The organism that benifits by living with on or in a host in a parasite interaction.
host An orgasims that that parisites the living sources of energy.
succession The series of prediction changes that happen in a community over time.
primary succession The series of changes that accure when the seasons change.
pioneer species The first species to populate an area during succession.
secondary succession The series of changes that happen when the ecosystem has been distributed.
