5.3 Add/Sub Decimals

TermDefinition
Estimate To find a value that is close enough to the right answer, usually with some thought or calculation involved
Sum To find a value that is close enough to the right answer, usually with some thought or calculation involved
Decimal "Decimal number" is often used to mean a number that uses a decimal point followed by digits that show a value smaller than one
Rounding Making a number simpler but keeping its value close to what it was. The result is less accurate, but easier to use
Whole Number Any of the numbers {0, 1, 2, 3, ...} etc. There is no fractional or decimal part.
Nearest Tenth One part in ten equal parts. Can be written 1/10 or 1/10th or 0.1
Compatible Numbers Numbers that are close to the original number but are EASIER to work with. **Think zeros ex. 10, 100, 200, 400 etc.
Difference The result of subtracting one number from another. How much one number differs from another.
